Eligibility requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following conditions: currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or a high school graduate who has already been admitted to a university.
Scholarship 2: ABS: Dr. Goh Keng Swee Scholarship
The Dr. Goh Keng Swee (GKS) Scholarship is a private-sector scholarship administered by the Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS).
Each year, three to four scholarships are awarded to outstanding individuals from 15 Asia-Pacific economies: Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar. The scholarship supports undergraduate study at local universities in Singapore, namely the National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore Management University (SMU), and Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD).
Eligibility
The GKS Scholarship is open to citizens/passport holders of the 15 Asia-Pacific economies.
Applicant requirements
- Meet the necessary university admission requirements, including taking any required university entrance examinations;
- Apply for admission to NUS, NTU, SMU, or SUTD at the same time. Most courses will be considered, except for professional programs such as medicine. Applicants should follow each university's admission deadlines and guidelines;
- Demonstrate leadership qualities and strong academic and co-curricular activity (CCA) achievements;
- Have taken the SAT or have scheduled an SAT test.
*The SAT is optional for students who have received confirmed admission to NUS, NTU, SMU, or SUTD. Results must be submitted by March 31, 2022.
Award period and terms
This scholarship supports up to four years of undergraduate study, including honors programs. It covers the following:
- Tuition fees and other mandatory fees;
- Airfare to Singapore and return airfare to the home country after completion of studies;
- An annual maintenance allowance of SGD 6,500;
- Accommodation allowance based on the institution;
- A one-time settling-in allowance of SGD 200 upon arrival in Singapore.
The scholarship is reviewed annually and is subject to satisfactory performance and academic results.
Conditions
Recipients will be required to work for three years after graduation in one of the following options:
- A Singapore-approved company
- A Singapore company approved in their home country
