NUS Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship

The Science and Technology (S&T) Undergraduate Scholarship is a freshman scholarship established to support outstanding students from Asian countries outside Singapore.

Eligibility

  • Citizens of Asian countries other than Singapore
  • Strong leadership qualities and potential
  • Excellent co-curricular activity record
  • Outstanding high school results
  • Applicants for a full-time undergraduate degree in Computing, Engineering, or Science (excluding Pharmacy) at the National University of Singapore

Scholarship Benefits

  • Tuition fees (after the MOE Tuition Grant Subsidy) and compulsory fees
  • An annual living allowance of S$6,000
  • A one-time settling-in allowance of S$200 upon registration
  • An annual accommodation allowance equivalent to the lowest on-campus double-room rate
  • A one-way airfare from the home country to Singapore at the start of the course, and a return airfare from Singapore to the home country at the end of the semester

Terms and Conditions

This scholarship is for students enrolled in the following full-time undergraduate programmes at NUS:

The scholarship is valid for the normal duration of the undergraduate programme at NUS.

Scholars must accept a six-year employment contract with a Singapore-registered company immediately after graduation.

Without prior approval from the University, scholars may not hold any other scholarship, grant, award, or allowance at the same time.

Recipients must maintain a cumulative average point (CAP) of at least 3.5, or its equivalent, and good conduct. The scholarship is reviewed each semester.

Recipients are limited to one semester of overseas study during their undergraduate studies, including but not limited to NUS Overseas Colleges and overseas student exchange programmes.

NUS does not guarantee employment after graduation and/or provide job placement for scholars.

If a scholar decides to withdraw from the University and/or terminate the scholarship early, the University reserves the right to require repayment of all scholarship funds paid to the scholar.

Application and Shortlisting Process

All applicants for undergraduate admission to the National University of Singapore will automatically be considered for the scholarship through their admission application.

If shortlisted, applicants will be assessed on the strength of their application and their performance at the scholarship selection interview.

Applicants invited to the selection interview will be notified by email and must submit an application describing their co-curricular activities and other achievements, as well as a personal statement, before the interview. Selection interviews will be held from March to June, and shortlisted candidates will be informed of the scholarship result in mid-July.

If there are not enough strong candidates, NUS reserves the right not to award any scholarships. The selection committee's decision is final.
