When students think about study abroad destinations, many immediately name the United States, the United Kingdom, or Australia. Few think of Malta. In fact, for most students, the first reaction to Malta is: Where is that? I’ve never even heard of it.

Although it is less popular than other destinations, Malta is still well worth considering, especially for students whose academic records and extracurricular profiles are not particularly outstanding.

So what is the study abroad experience in Malta like? Let’s take a look.

First, the costs are relatively low

Unlike other countries, where studying abroad can easily cost hundreds of thousands or even more, studying in Malta only costs a few tens of thousands of RMB per year. That is very affordable. But despite the low cost, the environment is truly excellent. Located in the Mediterranean, Malta offers beautiful scenery, a comfortable lifestyle, and a relaxed pace of life, making it a very suitable place for long-term living.

However, because the country is relatively small and the population is limited, many students choose to complete their undergraduate studies in Malta and then use it as a stepping stone to pursue a master’s degree in the United States or the United Kingdom.

Second, the education quality is high

As an English-speaking country, Malta naturally has a strong education system, and its degrees are widely recognized internationally, so the value of its qualifications is high.

There are not many universities in Malta. Most students study at the University of Malta, which is also listed among the world’s top 100 universities. Admission requirements are not especially demanding, so it offers very good value for money.

Although the University of Malta is not large in terms of student population, it has a very comprehensive range of faculties, with more than a dozen faculties and dozens of majors to choose from. Its facilities are also well developed. It has Malta’s best library, offering abundant academic materials and educational resources. It is also equipped with modern computer laboratories, allowing students to access the latest international information and resources.

Third, the international atmosphere is strong

The University of Malta’s international student community is well known around the world, and students from many different countries come here to study. Because English is widely used locally, the university attracts a large number of international students. Through the interaction of multiple cultures, every student can gain a highly valuable study abroad experience.

In addition, government support for students who study here is quite strong. During their time abroad, students receive substantial material support and financial subsidies from the government, which helps them complete their studies more smoothly.

Overall, Malta offers many advantages for study abroad students, and its entry requirements are not high.
