Chulalongkorn University in Thailand is a true royal university. Founded in 1913 by King Rama VI, it is the country’s oldest university. In many ways, it is regarded as a pioneer of higher education in Thailand and is honored as “the nation’s most prestigious university.” In rankings, Chulalongkorn University has consistently placed first among Thai universities for many years.
From its original four faculties to the 19 faculties it has today, Chulalongkorn University covers nearly every field. It offers a full range of programs. At the undergraduate level, 13 programs are open to international students. Chulalongkorn University Scholarships
Chulalongkorn University mainly offers three types of scholarships:
- Scholarships funded by the university for undergraduate students from financially difficult backgrounds, also known as financial aid. About 8% of undergraduate students receive this support each year, which exempts them from tuition for that year.
- Scholarships funded by the Chulalongkorn University Alumni Association. This funding mainly covers educational expenses and free lunches for all students.
- Funds donated by various foundations and private donors.
Chulalongkorn University is one of the best universities in Thailand, and it is also very welcoming to international students. It places little emphasis on background; as long as applicants meet the requirements, admission is generally not a major issue. The key is to prepare carefully based on the program you choose.
