- University of Helsinki
The University of Helsinki is Finland's first university and its top institution of higher learning. It is well known across Europe for its long history, extensive collections, cutting-edge facilities, broad range of programs, and outstanding achievements. At present, the University of Helsinki has 11 faculties and 20 relatively independent research institutes. During undergraduate study, Finnish and Swedish are the main languages of instruction at the University of Helsinki. However, as Finland has become more international, English is also widely used in master's and doctoral programs.

Founded in 1920, the University of Turku is one of Finland's best-known comprehensive multidisciplinary universities, and it is also the third largest university in Finland by enrolled student population. The main language of instruction at the University of Turku is Finnish, and it offers undergraduate, master's, and doctoral education. To attract international students, some programs at the University of Turku are taught in English.

The University of Oulu is a vibrant center for science and education. Its goal is to improve the education system in northern Finland and to build a high-level international scientific university.
The University of Oulu has six faculties: the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Economics, and the Faculty of Technology. In addition, it has independent institutions such as the Arctic Medical Research Institute, the Biocenter, the Department of Electronics and Optoelectronics, the Oulu Information Technology Center, the Kajaani University Center, the Language Center, the Sodankylä Observatory, the University Library, and the University Press.
